My Local Vendor is currently focused on the Houston, TX market. We're building the most trusted local experience here before expanding to additional cities.
Is My Local Vendor free to use?
Browsing listings is free on the web and in the app. Creating a seller account and listing your vehicle is free during our launch period. Check the app for the most current pricing.
Do I need the mobile app?
You can browse listings on the web without an account. However, to message sellers, book test drives, or create listings, you'll need to download the My Local Vendor app.

Buying

How do I find a car on My Local Vendor?
You can browse all approved listings at mylocalvendor.com/browse or in the My Local Vendor app. Use filters to narrow by make, model, year, price, and more.
Are all listings verified and approved?
Yes. Every listing on My Local Vendor goes through a review and approval process before it appears publicly. You'll see an 'Approved Listing' badge on all live vehicles.
How do I contact a seller?
Download the My Local Vendor app, complete identity verification, and then you can message sellers directly through in-app secure messaging. No phone numbers are exchanged until both parties choose to share them.
Can I see the seller's identity?
Verified sellers carry a Verified badge on their profile. You won't see personal details like full name or address, but you can be confident the seller's identity has been verified by My Local Vendor.

Selling

How do I list my vehicle?
Download the My Local Vendor app, complete identity verification, tap 'Create Listing,' add photos and vehicle details, set your price, and submit. Our team reviews listings within 24 hours.
What happens after I submit my listing?
The My Local Vendor team reviews your listing for accuracy and completeness. If approved, it goes live immediately and appears in browse results. If we need more info, we'll reach out through the app.
How long does listing approval take?
Most listings are reviewed within 24 hours. During high-volume periods it may take up to 48 hours.
Can I edit my listing after it's approved?
Yes, you can edit your listing from the app. Significant changes (like price, VIN, or photos) may trigger a re-review.

Verification

What is identity verification?
Identity verification is a required step for all My Local Vendor users who want to transact. It involves submitting a government-issued ID and a selfie, which are matched by our secure verification system.
How long does verification take?
Verification is typically completed within minutes. In some cases it may take up to a few hours.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. Your verification data is handled through secure, industry-standard processes and is never shared with other users. We only display a Verified badge — not your personal information.

Test Drives

How do test drives work on My Local Vendor?
Test drives are scheduled through the app. My Local Vendor provides a pre-drive checklist, recommends safe public meetup locations in Houston, and documents the appointment in the app.
Do I have to use a specific meetup location?
My Local Vendor recommends public, well-lit locations for test drives. Both parties agree on the meetup location in the app before meeting in person.
What if something goes wrong during a test drive?
You can report any issues directly through the app. My Local Vendor support reviews all reports and takes action — including banning users who violate safety policies.
